Billing

Adjust amounts. Keep the record.

Bedspace Managerinvoices are immutable — they can't be edited. When an amount needs changing, you create an adjustment entry that increases or decreases it. The original invoice stays intact. The adjustment is tracked separately.

Two Adjustment Types

Increase or decrease — both tracked

Increase Adjustment

Add to the invoice amount — for additional charges, late fees, or any amount that should increase what the tenant owes.

Examples

  • Adding a late payment fee to an existing rent invoice
  • Extra charge for additional services used in the period
  • Underbilled rent corrected with an increase adjustment

Decrease Adjustment

Reduce the invoice amount — for discounts, corrections, or any credit that should lower what the tenant owes.

Examples

  • A discount applied after the invoice was generated
  • Overbilled rent corrected with a decrease adjustment
  • Goodwill credit for a maintenance issue that delayed resolution

Financial Records

Always Complete

Why Adjustments, Not Edits

Every change creates a record — never overwrites one

Spreadsheets let you overwrite numbers silently. Bedspace Manager doesn't. Adjustment entries create an explicit, timestamped record of every change — so your financial history is always complete and trustworthy.

  • Audit trail stays complete

When investigators or accountants review records, every adjustment is dated and logged — the original amount and the change are both visible

  • No accidental data loss

Editing an invoice directly risks destroying the original record. Adjustment entries preserve both the original and the modification

  • Easier reconciliation

Month-end reconciliation is cleaner when every change is an explicit entry rather than a silent overwrite on an existing invoice

  • Clear tenant communication

You can show tenants exactly what was originally charged and what was adjusted — no confusion about discrepancies
